The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power received a final trailer ahead of its September 2 release – and it’s a teaser that shines a light on the captivating cinematic scope of the fantasy series.
The next Prime Video show is less than two weeks away from finally releasing. In a bid to further heighten the excitement ahead of its arrival, Amazon Studios has given us another intriguing glimpse into The Rings of Power. And while previous teasers were largely action-packed and drama, this final trailer hints at the cinematic calm before the thunderous storm to come.
Check out the final trailer for Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV show below:
The two-and-a-half-minute video opts for a more laid-back but menacing tone than its predecessors. Previous trailers have positioned The Rings of Power as a lighter but arguably grander affair than House of the Dragon, the first Game of Thrones spin-off and the latest hit fantasy series to debut on HBO Max. Given that the first season of The Rings of Power cost $465 million to produce, the term ‘grandiose’ seems appropriate here.
The latest trailer for the Prime Video show, however, puts its version of Middle-earth at the forefront of the footage it contains. Sweeping vistas, green landscapes dotted with waterfalls, barren locations, icy wastelands, and stormy seas take pride of place in The Rings of Power’s final teaser – footage that shows just how expansive Amazon’s live-action prequel series is at nature.
Of course, there are plenty of scenes that depict elements of the show’s political drama, action sequences, and other fantasy-based aspects. We received several voiceovers of Galadriel from Morfydd Clark, who is certainly positioned as the main star of the first season, among new scenes of the elven heroine as she travels to various locations. Meanwhile, there are a few snippets of footage of Daniel Weyman’s Nameless Stranger – the grungy but mysterious character picking up an apple from Markella Kavenagh’s Nori Brandyfoot on one occasion and preparing to fend off some menacing wolf-like creatures in another scene.

There are many other intriguing scenes in the trailer as well. We have another brief look at Anson Boon’s villainous-looking individual – is he really playing Sauron? – as well as new looks at Númenor, Khazad-dûm, and the Southern Lands (and those who inhabit these regions). Additionally, we see Sauron’s scattered orc army beginning to accumulate at an undisclosed location, we hear new dialogue from Arondir by Ismael Cruz Córdova and Halbrand by Charlies Vickers, and we receive confirmation that Galadriel is pursuing Sauron and Morgoth’s remaining forces. in retaliation for the death of his brother.
All in all, there are a lot of new and interesting details to glean in the final trailer for The Rings of Power. Fortunately, it won’t be long before we start getting some answers about what we’ve seen in this and previous teasers.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will release exclusively on Prime Video on Friday, September 2, with a two-episode premiere. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly after that point.
